Graduate Success
Gin Moon, owner of Gin's Food Service is the first graduate of the Bayview Business Resource Center's IDA Savings Program!

In partnership with San
Francisco's Earned Assets Resource Network ("EARN"), the Bayview Business Resource Center (BBRC) launched the Individual Development Account ("IDA") Program in 2003. IDAs are matched-savings accounts where every dollar deposited by an IDA Saver is matched with two dollars, and one of the allowed uses of funds is for business expansion.
Gin Moon, IDA Program Graduate
"My IDA helped ease cash flow, so that I could buy more inventory for my business. It's a good program: for every dollar you save, you get two, and you can't beat that," says Gin Moon.

Gin, whose business is located in the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco, began working with the BBRC in December 2002. Gin's Food Service is a restaurant supplier and vending machines supplier to businesses such as MUNI. In addition to participating in the IDA program, Gin has taken numerous workshops at the BBRC, developed a business plan, and received federal certification as well as MBE certification.
