Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center is a non-profit
organization that provides small business training and support services
to women and men throughout the Bay Area; by helping them to start or grow their
own business, Renaissance promotes lasting
economic development for individuals and communities that traditionally
have not had access to capital and business support.
Founded in 1985, Renaissance was one of the first micro-enterprise
development programs in the country. We've grown significantly over the years,
and served over 3,000 clients through comprehensive and integrated programs.
Renaissance clients represent
the social, economic and ethnic diversity of the Bay Area: 61% women;
65% people of color; 85% low/moderate income; 16% persons with disabilities,
including HIV/AIDS.
Graduates are not only becoming economically self-sufficient, they
are creating systemic economic change - creating new jobs, products
and services, and adding entrepreneurial and economic vitality to
their communities.
