The Bayview Business Resource Center (BBRC) is a proud partner with SF EARN in the work to increase wealth creation among San Francisco residents. In the BBRC/SF EARN Individual Development Account (IDA) program, savers can receive up to $4,000 in a match from EARN, if they save $2,000 of their own money. This means that the IDA saver can obtain a total of $6,000 at the conclusion of their savings period. Participants will be able to invest money saved into a business, a home or education. If you are interested, please review the eligibility guidelines (pdf) here. If you are eligible, please contact BBRC directly to sign up for an orientation.
New EARN Individual Development Accounts Established
EARN Individual Development Account breaks the cycle of poverty by matching 2-1 savings of low-wage workers and helping them invest in assets that build wealth, creating a cycle of prosperity across generations. EARN offers money management training, access to financial services, and 401k-like matched accounts. Funds in these accounts must be invested in one of three assets: a home, a small business, or higher education - investments that have the power to lift people out of poverty for the rest of their lives.
6 new clients were added to our roster of IDA clients to bring BBRC up to managing 80 clients.
EARN Individual Development Account Drawdown:
