Halo Salon

Chestnut Street, with its mix of cozy neighborhood shops and high-end Boutiques, is now the home of HALO Salon. Opened by long-time stylist and Renaissance Graduate Shannon Kitchen-Juarez this April, HALO offers a full range of cutting and coloring services for both men and women, in a comfortable, upscale environment.

"I have always wanted to own a salon and I took the Business Planning Course at Renaissance to focus my ideas. I had no idea how to go about drafting a business plan. I thought the Renaissance classes were great and I especially liked the guest speakers and different specialists that came to our class. I think everyone has been super supportive and I am so glad I took the class to get me pointed in the right direction!"

Bringing her 15 years as a stylist in Union Square to a fresh new storefront on Chestnut (at Divisadero), Shannon hopes to add to the neighborhood ambiance by offering high-end salon services to this quiet corner of Chestnut where no upscale salon has been. While keeping with the elegant but homey air that is Chestnut Street, HALO manages to marry high-class with comfort and charm in a way that is sure to strike a cord with locals and visitors alike. And with Lucas scheduled to open their new Presidio offices in the coming months, she's sure to see a lot of new faces.

"I’ve worked in some of the best salon’s here in the city, but really felt I wanted to use what I’d learned to create my vision exemplary service, satisfied stylists and happy clients." Sparked by this desire to create the ‘perfect’ salon, Juarez set out to master the third great pillar of running a salon (after cutting and coloring, of course) - the business. "Cutting hair is almost second nature to me, listening to my clients to create their perfect cut, that’s totally natural. Learning the business; that’s been the biggest challenge so far, but I thrive on challenges!"

Halo Salon strives to create current individualized styles without "the attitude" you can sometimes get at other upscale salons. You will experience a comfortable, fun environment where the quality of work is unsurpassed at any salon- big or small!
