Recent Accomplishments
• Renaissance opened our 4th Center, Renaissance Marin, a new entrepreneurship Center in San Rafael.
• Launched Renaissance Online -- a virtual Business Planning class; ideal for entrepreneurs from throughout California who are unable to attend our in-person classes.
• Expanded Out of the Box -- our entrepreneurship training program for formerly incarcerated women and men is now offered in the women's and men's county jails.
• Introduced off-site programs in Redwood City and Daly City.

Why does small business matter?
• Small businesses represent 99.7 percent of all firms, they create more than half of the private non-farm gross domestic product, and they create 60 to 80 percent of the net new jobs.
• The median net worth of a business owner is 2.5 times higher than a non-business owner.
• We could be at 100% employment if one of every three very small businesses hired an employee.
• Every dollar spent at a locally owned business generates two to four times more economic benefit than a dollar spent at a globally owned business.
