Renaissance

Each year Renaissance serves over 1,600 very low-to-moderate income women and men start or grow their businesses who reflect the social, cultural, and economic diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area: 90% are low-to-moderate income; 72% are women; 75% are people of color; and nearly one in eight have disabilities.

Our entrepreneurial programs are offered at our four locations: South of Market and Bayview/Hunters Point in San Francisco, East Palo Alto on the mid-peninsula, and San Rafael in Marin. We offer services in Spanish at Renaissance Mid-Peninsula. 

Since our launch in 1985 with a single business planning class, Renaissance has helped over 7,500 businesses launch, grow and succeed:

Over 40% of Renaissance graduates create two or more jobs

96% of graduates who entered Renaissance with an existing business remain in business

58% of clients who came to Renaissance in the pre-launch stage are now operating a business

The median gross revenue of our clients after one year in business full-time is $60,000
