The Art of Entrepreneurship Forging Your True Purpose
For the Weak of Heart with Bold Dreams and a Humble Bank Account
Entrepreneurs aren’t born; they’re grown with this new pedagogy of learning, a supportive system and applying the science of failure as the real success formula.
Urban FIRE (Financial Intelligence, Responsible Entrepreneurship) is based on the 20-year study that resulted in the groundbreaking “21 Lessons of Successful Entrepreneurs.”
If you’re still working for peanuts; it’s been hard finding work; your dreams still remain a dream and everything seems to be passing you by; then have the guts to do something about it. Sign up for Urban FIRE, and let the future begin!
Your curriculum is visual and you watch it at home, as many times as you need. Then in class, you apply its lessons, exchange ideas, hear experts, work in small groups and make valuable connections. This is learning by doing.
As usual, Urban FIRE is using the training methods with the highest retention rate including visual, interactive and group participation. It is a lively three-hour weekly program that has gained national recognition, imitation and won the National Excellence Award for urban economic development.
- Urban FIRE begins Saturday, January 25, 2020, 9:30am to 12:30pm for 12 weeks.
- Tuition is on a sliding scale based on your 2019 income. No one will be turned away.
- Two orientations are scheduled for Saturday, January 11 and Saturday, January 18 at 10am, at 935 Union Street at the corner of 10th in West Oakland.
- Urban FIRE is sponsored through the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center and the Oakland Housing Authority.
Instructor: Boku Kodama
Boku Kodama founded Urban FIRE (Financial Intelligence, Responsible Entrepreneurship) in 2003 to train inner-city, underserved residents to become entrepreneurs. The program has been called the Civil Rights Instrument for the 21st Century. Knowing these students have few resources, Urban FIRE trains students to launch their businesses with little or no money from home and for the benefit of their communities. Urban FIRE was awarded the National Excellence Award for its achievements in urban economics. Boku has been a lifelong entrepreneur with 20 successful launches over 40 years. He continues to do research and improve his curriculum annually. His is the only visually-based training that has proven to allow students to learn and retain more of the information than traditional methods.
