What type of services does Renaissance provide?

Renaissance provides a comprehensive array of programs tailored for entrepreneurs at every stage of business development – from business startup to growth. Our services are available in both English and Spanish and are offered for free or low-cost. Explore our Programs page to discover the complete list of core programs we offer.

I have a business idea and don’t know where to start.

Begin by filling out an Interest Form and signing up for  Orientation. Offered in both English and Spanish, our orientations are designed to introduce you to our services and programs, providing you with a clear roadmap for your entrepreneurial journey

What services do you provide for existing businesses?

Renaissance connects emerging and established entrepreneurs with programs and services suited to their unique business needs. Please take a moment to fill out an interest form and share additional insights about your goals. Our dedicated team will then be in touch to guide you through the next steps.

Who are Renaissance clients?

Renaissance serves aspiring and existing Bay Area small business owners. Our clients are 90% low-to-moderate income, 75% people of color, 81% women, and 39% immigrants. Since our founding, we have supported over 40,000 individuals who have started and grown more than 21,000 businesses and created employment for nearly 32,000 residents. Learn more.

How can I obtain funding to launch or grow my business?

If you’re currently operating a business and are seeking financing or financial technical support, complete our Interest Form. A member of the Renaissance team will promptly get in touch to connect you with one of our financial services.

Can Renaissance help me develop a business plan?

Our Business Prep and Business Planning classes can assist you in building essential critical business skills and developing a practical and applicable business plan.

Note: New clients must first fill out an interest form and complete orientation before registering for classes.

What is the difference between the 10-Week Business Planning Class (50 hours) and the 8-10-Week Business Preparation course (24-30 hours)?

Business Planning Class: This class delves into business fundamentals, networking, and building a  business plan construction over 10 weeks (50 hours). It covers marketing strategies, operations, and financial projections. This interactive class establishes a sturdy foundation for your entrepreneurship journey. Offered through our South of Market Women’s Business Center/SoMa.

Business Prep Class: This class is a condensed version of our longer 50-hour Business Planning class. It is offered at our Peninsula and East Bay locations.

Are all of your classes online?

Renaissance currently offers classes online and in person.

Do you offer on-demand programs?

“Your Business on Your Schedule” is a flexible on-demand class with 6 dynamic sessions. Access pre-recorded modules, along with counseling, workshops, and networking events. Complete the Interest Form to begin.

How can I become a Renaissance client?

Visit our Become a Client page and complete the Interest Form. Upon submission, you’ll receive a link to select your orientation date. During the orientation, a Renaissance team member will work with you to enroll in classes tailored to your business needs.

Is the Renaissance Women’s Business Center only for women entrepreneurs?

The Renaissance Women’s Business Center, located in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood, is partially funded by the Small Business Administration and local and state funding. Although we specialize in empowering women entrepreneurs through tailored programming, all of our programs are fully accessible to entrepreneurs of any gender.

If I live outside of California or have a business registered outside of California, is Renaissance able to assist me?

For those residing outside of California, we strongly recommend connecting with your nearby technical assistance centers, such as local Women’s Business Centers, Small Business Development Centers, or SCORE chapters. These federally funded programs offer valuable training and individual support to small businesses.

How can I get involved with Renaissance as a mentor or volunteer to support aspiring entrepreneurs?
